NanoFabulous: Developed by the University of Maryland, College Park MRSEC

NanoFabulous, a mini-exhibition developed by the University of Maryland, College Park Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) is on display at Port Discovery Children’s Museum in Baltimore, MD. The exhibit is designed to help children and their families understand how scientists and engineers discover and invent new materials from nanoscale building-blocks.

Univ. of Maryland graduate student assists visitor in learning how probe works

The exhibit includes unique interactive components developed by MRSEC members to invite visitors to explore the processes and techniques that make nanotechnology a reality.  NanoFabulous engages visitors in a variety of activities that promote learning:  Lego Scanning Probe Microscope, Probes Station, Magnification Station, Near-field Scanning Optical Microscope, and a Cleanroom.
