The I-MRSEC's annual outreach program at Franklin STEAM Academy includes engaging materials science lessons and creative expression through arts for middle school students, culminating in a field trip to the Materials Research Lab.

The STEM Academy, in partnership with the Bronx Center for Science and Math, offers intensive physics and chemistry tutoring, faculty lectures, lab visits, and student panels during NYC public school breaks.

The eSMART program at MRSEC engages high school students in physics through immersive experiences, including research discussions, facility tours, hands-on experiments, and visits to museums and laboratories.

The UT Austin Entrepreneurial Greenhouse Program leverages NSF I-Corps elements to teach technology transfer, business models, and commercialization strategies to students and faculty through workshops and local resources.

Since 2003 we have successfully partnered with universities in southern Africa, specifically Lesotho and South Africa, to bring four faculty members to the LRSM every summer to participate in collaborative research projects with our associate faculty.
