The Center's RET program at NU offers teachers hands-on research experiences, networking, and curriculum development, culminating in a technical report and presentation. Participants receive stipends and professional development credits.

UCSB science and engineering undergraduates can participate in a 10-week summer internship program at Tokyo Institute of Technology, funded by the UCSB CISEI internship program.

In this program, local science teachers participate in laboratory research under the mentorship of MRL graduate, post-doctoral and faculty researchers. Teachers work collaboratively to translate their research experiences into the development of inquiry-based lab projects for science classrooms. The total teacher stipend over the course of the two year program is $10,000.

The CHARM REU at UD offers a 10-week interdisciplinary summer program in materials science, providing students with research experiences, skills development, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities in advanced technologies.

UChicago MRSEC aims to foster collaborative research, disseminate results, enhance student training in entrepreneurship, and expand awareness of opportunities, providing resources for private-sector scientists.

Columbia University's RET offers emerging technology training, featuring a summer program and ongoing support, in collaboration with MRSEC and the Summer Research Program for Science Teachers.

Since 2004 we have worked with the staff of the University Museum of Archaeology and anthropology to present a one-day workshop on materials science applied to archaeology. The workshop consists of a series of lectures on archaeochemistry, archaeometallurgy and archaeoceramics coupled with lab tours of LRSM and museum facilities, CAAM, culminating in a tour of a local bronze casting foundry.

The NSF-funded Wisconsin MRSEC Education and Outreach Group offers educational activities about advanced materials and nanotechnology to enhance K-12 and public understanding of science and engineering concepts.

M-SPIRE at UCI MRSEC is a two-week summer program providing high school and community college students hands-on experience in materials research, mentoring, and skills for pursuing related disciplines.

Teachers participate in state-of-the-art research in one of our labs and then translate the experience into lessons or curriculum they can use in their classrooms. Open to high school or middle school science teachers. This is a great opportunity for chemistry, physics or engineering teachers.
