The spring Director???s Meeting will be held at the University of Washington in Seattle over two days, May 1-2 2008. The meeting will begin in the early afternoon on Thursday and adjourn late morning on Friday. This schedule will allow travelers from the east coast to arrive on the 1st and depart on the 2nd.The theme of the meeting is ???The Interface Between Biology and Materials???.The spring Director???s Meeting will be held at the University of Washington in Seattle over two days, May 1-2 2008.

8th Southern School on Computational Chemistry and Materials Science is organized together by the members of the NSF-EPSCOR Computational Chemistry Cluster, NSF-CREST Computational Center for Molecular Structure and Interactions, the NSF-Partnership for Research and Education for Materials (NSF-PREM) and Jackson State University.

The focus is on Educational and Outreach opportunities provided by the MRSEC and PREM programs with 4 sessions on Sunday afternoon, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Following sessions: Session 1 Session 2

Join us at the 2007 Harvard Holiday Science Lecture as we observe, touch, taste, and explore some of your favorite foods. Kids, families, students, teachers and the curious are welcome! You'll discover the physics, chemistry and biology of cheese and bread, look at them under a microscope, taste the cheese we make (yum!), and learn about digestion (yuck!). Using live experiments and interactive demonstrations with children from the audience, we will investigate the wonders of pizza. Come and be a scientist with us!
