The department of Physics will host a National Science Foundation sponsored REU focused on condensed matter physics, and materials physics. Students who are 18 years old and US Citizens from across the country are eligible to apply. Research positions span various Penn State departments and are open to undergraduate students from all across the country who are majoring in physics, chemistry, material science, all branches of engineering, applied math, etc. and have an interest in the physics, chemistry or engineering aspects of novel materials research and condensed matter physics.
