He married and adored his high school sweetheart, Beverly and together they raised three daughters. He coached baseball and basketball at St. Patrick's and then coached both sports at Cathedral and he led Bishop Hannon to a state championship in basketball in 1973. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Sr., and Christine Schmidt Quinlan. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the former St. John the Evangelist Church in South Scranton. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 27th, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Parish (Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church), 1217 Prospect Avenue, Scranton. Larry was strongly devoted to his Catholic faith. She possessed a deep faith and was devoted to the Blessed Mother and the rosary. The family also wishes to thank their Allied Terrace family. He was a long-time chairman of the Economic Development Council of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Private Industry Council of Lackawanna County. The couple were married for 51 years. While he was larger in life in stature, he will be remembered as a deeply religious, gentle, caring, and loving individual to his family and friends.
