Postdoctoral Position: Polymer Synthesis to Mimic Proteins in Biominerals

We have an immediate opening for a postdoctoral scientist in CPIMA with research experience in polymer and/or dendrimer synthesis. We are interested in synthesizing a family of dendrimers and other macromolecular architectures that mimic the structure and function of a family of proteins that exist in biominerals. We are furthermore interested in studying the self-assembly of the synthesized macromolecules and their possible use in building nanoparticle arrays. Applications from women and from members of underrepresented groups are especially encouraged. The postdoctoral research associate would be jointly mentored by two research staff members at the IBM Almaden Research Center. Recruiting will continue until the position is filled.
