Assistant Research Scientist /XPS Spectroscopy
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) at the University of Maryland at College Park have an immediate opening for an Assistant Research Scientist with expertise in XPS Spectroscopy. The scientist will collaborate on externally funded research projects, characterizing nanostructures, monolayers, thin films, and new materials. Duties will include some routine sample analysis, student training, and participation in program efforts to expand shared instrumentation facilities. Minimum requirements are an earned doctoral degree in chemistry, physics, or a related discipline and demonstrated expertise in XPS spectroscopy and ultra-high vacuum methods.
