54th Midwest Solid State Conference @ University of Nebraska

The Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience and the Department of Physics will host the 54th Midwest Solid State Conference on October 6-7, 2007.
The Midwest Solid State Conference has a tradition going back almost fifty years and has been very successful in attracting both experimental and theoretical researchers, and have usually had an annual area of emphasis related to the specialties represented at the institution holding the meeting. The goal of this conference is to provide an ideal setting for new graduate students to establish their first contact with the scientific community at large. Talks will be given at a colloquium level with an expected number of participants around 100 and a poster session will be organized. Since this is a regional conference the low costs of transportation and participation should make it affordable to most thesis supervisors.
