Engaging Students in Science, A Workshop for Secondary Science Teachers

Join your colleagues at our 10th workshop as we explore web-based applications, computer simulations, virtual field trips, short science videos and other activities to motivate and boost student learning. RET intern presentations include ???Enhancing Biology Lessons with Interactive Simulations??? for biology-based curriculums; ???Teaching the i-Generation Earth Science: A Brainstorm into Multiple Learning Modalities??? for earth science teachers and a presentation on ???Functional Materials: Theory and Application??? for physical science teachers. After these presentations we will discuss current and future directions in MRL education outreach. In the afternoon, our guest speaker, Materials Professor Michael Chabinyc, will speak about ???Sustainability and Energy: Harnessing the Sun???.
